Overview

For decades, sports ticketing in Ghana relied on manual sales, paper tickets, and unpredictable gate revenue. In March 2022, that changed.

eGotickets partnered with the National Sports Authority (NSA) to roll out Ghana’s first fully digital eTicketing system for sports, starting with the highly anticipated Ghana vs Nigeria World Cup Qualifier. The system enabled fans to buy tickets online or via mobile, receive QR codes, and access the stadium through real-time validation checkpoints.

The match alone brought in over GHS 1.4 million in verified ticket sales—a 60%+ boost in revenue—thanks to reduced fraud, increased convenience, and scalable distribution. This success triggered widespread adoption by the NSA and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, with eGotickets powering Premier League games across the country.

To serve fans who preferred cash or didn’t have digital access, eGotickets developed a dedicated Venue Management System (VMS). This allowed tickets to be sold at stadiums digitally while handling physical cash—bridging offline and online operations. In parallel, the company rolled out eGoPrime, an agent-based mobile sales system enabling trained sellers to issue tickets in communities and neighborhoods where sports enthusiasm is high but digital penetration is low.

Together, these systems ensured that no fan was left behind, and stadium access was both inclusive and secure.
